Created in response ot Hanna von Goeler's 2008 painted currency series Global, particularly teh KK49340630 Pembroke Welsh Corgi five-pound note piece. 


A Year of Living Inappropriately

Created in response to the backlash recieved by Princesses Bearice and Eugenie at the 2011 royal wedding of Kate Middleton and Prince William, aka "fascinator-gate."



Sarah Rieser is a former interior designer who turned her mid-life crisis into a B.F.A. from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. She has been exhibiting in fine art galleries since 2012, including a solo show through The Art House Chicago. In 2021, Sarah's work is on view at DePauw University, Nature Park, Hillard Gallery Kansas City, The Art Center Highland Park, Dragonfly Gallery & Creative Spaces Chicagop, Verostko Center for the Arts at Saint Vincent College, Side Street Studio Arts Elgin, and the Block Party Community Event of Terrain Biennial at Overton Elementary.

"Living and making in suburban dystopia, my art practice is a thematic exploration of consumption related dysthymia. By using traditional, labor-intensive processes tto reinterpret disposable, mass-produced materials, I intend my pieces to convey elements of humor and irony with the notion of reassigning value to nugatory goods."
